Service and Philanthropy
Ovarian Cancer Awareness

Sigma Alpha Omega adopted Ovarian Cancer Awareness as its national philanthropy in 2007, The sorority has worked alongside organizations to promote education and awareness efforts such as Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance, NormaLeah Ovarian Cancer Initiative, Teal Diva, and many others. While this is a continual goal for our chapter, we place a special emphasis on our philanthropy in September for Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month.
Service
As a chapter, we organize and participate service events each semester. We take great joy in opportunities to show love not only to our school, but also our local community. A few of our recent service projects include: a books and blankets drive to benefit the Rescue Mission of Cape Fear, a food drive to stock our on campus pantry for students in need, and sending letters to patients currently admitted to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
